Question
An unpolarized laser has an average power of 0.600 mW. At a distance of 10.0 m it forms a circle with a diameter of 2.00 mm.Assuming the entire average power of the laser is within the circle of light, what is the intensity of the laser?
When I went to solve this problem I used the formula I=Power/Area --> I used Intensity=0.600mW/Area of the circle (Pi*1.00mm^2). With this formula I got an answer of 0.19 W/m^2. I was wondering if anyone could confirm these steps and my result because I am still unsure. Thank you!
Explanation / Answer
step is correct but units are wrong u didnt take care of mm correct ans in 191 w/metre^2
