a. Find the probability that the first male/female pair is caught exactly after the zoo captures the fifth animal. Hint: Condition on the gender of the first animal caught.

b. How many animals are expected to be caught before the first male/female pair is found? What is the value of p such that this expected value is a minmum? can you guess this number?

c. How many animals are expected to be caught before the second male/female pair is found? What is this value when p=q=.5? Hint: Condition on the genders of the first two animals caught.
