-13 points CJ10 2 P D05.G0. My Notes Ask Your The data in the following table describe the initial and final positions of a moving car. The elapsed time for each of the three pairs of positions listed in the table is 0.46 s Review the concept of average velocity in Section 2.2 and then determine the average velocity (magnitude and direction) for each of the three pairs. Note that the algebraic sign of your answers will convey the direction. Initial position xo Final position x (a) 2.3m (b) +6.4m () 3.2 m +5.8 m +1.6 m (b)select (c)lect GO Tutorial Section 22Explanation / Answer
Average Velocity is given by:
Avg Velocity = Displacement/time taken
Give that for each data time elapsed = 0.46 sec
Part A.
Displacement = xf - xi = 5.8 - 2.3
Avg Velocity = (5.8 - 2.3) m/0.46 sec = +7.61 m/sec
Part B.
Displacement = xf - xi = 1.6 - 6.4
Avg Velocity = (1.6 - 6.4) m/0.46 sec = -10.43 m/sec
Part B.
Displacement = xf - xi = 7.4 - (-3.2) = 7.4 + 3.2
Avg Velocity = (7.4 + 3.2) m/0.46 sec = +23.04 m/sec
