Explanation / Answer

7. 6uF and C2 are in parallel,

C = 6 + C2 = 24.6 uF

Now two C1 and C are in series,.

1/Ceq = 2/C1 + 1/C = 2/24.60 + 1/24.60

Ceq = 8.2 uF .....Ans (a)

(B) charge C1 = Ceq V = 8.2 x9 = 73.8 uC ....Ans

charge on 6uF = 73.8 x 6 / (18.60 + 6)

= 18 uC .....Ans

charge on C2 = 73.8 - 18 = 55.8 uC ....Ans

(C) on both 24.60 uF = Q / C = 73.8 / 24.60 = 3 Volt

on 18.60 uF = on 6uF = 3 Volt
