Constants Two dogs pull horizontally on ropes attached to a post, the angle between the ropes is 60 8 Submit Part B Find the the angle the resultant force makes with dog A's rope

Explanation / Answer

As per chegg guide lines I am working first problem, please post remaining questions in the next post

4.02)

The horizontal force of dog A is

F Ax = 250 N

FAy = 0

the horizontal force of dog B

F Bx = FB cos 60.8 = 320 cos 60.8 = 156.11 N

Fy = F sin 60.8 = 320 sin 60.8 = 279.33 N

Rx = FAx + FBx = 406.11 N

Ry = 279.33 N

resultant force is

R = sqrt Rx^2 + Ry^2 = sqrt (406.11)^2 + (279.33)^2 = 492.9 N

(b)

direction

theta = tan^-1 ( Ry/ Rx) = tan^-1 ( 279.33N/406.11) = 34.52 degree
