Question
Question 1 2 pts A 32 tooth spur gear pinion has a module of 4 mm, rotates at 1200 rpm, and drives a spur gear at 600 rpm. Determine the theoretical centre distance (mm) between the two gears. Question2 2 pts Using the gear geometry of the two-stage gear reducer shown in Design Problem 6, Question 2, determine the rotational speed of shaft b (in RPM) if the motor rotates at 2010 rpm. Question 3 2 pts The two-stage gear reducer shown in Design Problem 6, Question 2 is driven by a 1 kW motor rotating at 2336 rpm. Determine the torque (Nm) carried by the shaft c assuming 96 % efficiency of each gear pairExplanation / Answer
1.
Given Tp = 32
m = 4mm
Np = 1200 rpm
NG = 600 rpm
NG TG = Np Tp
(600 × TG ) = 1200×32
TG = 64
Center distance = m(TG + Tp )/2
=4×(32+64)/2
= 192 mm
