The bracket below is dimensioned and i need help with the stress analysis. The part highlighted has a part bolted to it as you can see from my crude drawing on the right. The part bolted has a force pulling up on it which is 6000 lbs. so i need to know the stress on the highlighte bracket. I need to make sure i did my math right. By the way if you cant see the highleted square bracket the dimensions are 1x10x10. I do know Stress is the found by MC/I but the numbers that i was getting seemed too small.

Stress is given by force/area So force is 6000 lbs Area is 10*10 cm^2 So, stress is 60 lbs/cm2
