a) Using MATLAB, plot stress vs. strain; be sure to label the axes.
b) Determine the Young's modulus (E) for the linear region of the curve by plotting a linear regression line ("best-fit" line) for the elastic region of your curve. Use the MATLAB functions "poly-fit" and "polyval" for this.
c) Using the Young's modulus obtained from part b, determine the yield point using the 0.2% offset method. Plot the offset line on your stress/strain plot and estimate the value where the two plots intersect.
Explanation / Answer
What have you tried? This site isn't free homework answers. If you have a specific question on why something isn't working then were happy to help, but asking us to do your homework is ridiculous, especially for this problem. You haven't included any equations or attempts at the MATLAB code. If you get something, I'd be happy to look at it and correct it, but not going to do the work for you!
