Question
Having trouble figuring how to find voltage at each node with respect to the ground(D).
1. For the circuit shown (all Rs in ohms), determine VA, VB, VC, and VD (include polarity).
In addition, what is the voltage across each resistor (include polarity)?
2.Repeat problem #1 with the 12V source
Having trouble figuring how to find voltage at each node with respect to the ground(D).. For the circuit shown (all Rs in ohms), determine VA, VB, VC, and VD (include polarity). In addition, what is the voltage across each resistor (include polarity)? .Repeat problem #1 with the 12V source "flipped" ("+" terminal of source connected to node C and "-" terminal of source connected to node A).Explanation / Answer
we have 1 a current flowing ... so we have 3 v across 3 ohm resistor 4 v across 4 ohm resistor and 5 v across 5 ohm resistor...
VD =0.. next VC-VD = -5 => VC= -5 V.
VA-VC= 12 V => VA= 7 V
ALSO VB-VD= 4 V => VB = 4 V
2. WITH SOURCE FLIPPED ..WE STILL HAVE THE SAME VOLTAGES ACROSS THE RESISTORS... BUT IN REVERSE FASHION... SO NOW VC-VD=5 V => VC= 5 V . ,VD-VB= 4 V => VB= -4 V. ,,=> VB-VA=3 V =>VA=-7 V
