Question
So I did this lab, and need to come up with a causal question and hypothesis. Can someone help me out? For Membrane 1 the procedure was: 1. To observe the effects of adding distilled water and salt solution to living plant cells. 2. To practice drawing what is observed under the microscope.
Membrane A Observing Red Blood Cells Repeat Procedures from Membrane Ifor the red blood cells. a Look and carefully draw red blood cells as prepared for you. b. Look and carefully draw red blood cells with saline added. c. Look and carefully draw red blood cells with pure water added. 1. B. Review Drawings of Red Onion, Elodea, and Red Blood Cels What questions are raised by your observations? (Try and think of questions, ke, what is the cause of such-and-such observation 1. Develop two explanations (hypotheses) to tentatively answer one of the causal questions listed above. 2. You will design an experiment a·dialysis-bag model' cell as describe below. You will se that model cell' to try to test two of your hypotheses. To construct a dialysis-bag odel cell, first place the tubing in water until it is thoroughly soaked Twist one end of soaked tubing. Fold the end over and tie it very tightly so it won't leak) with string eparate the sides of the tubing by rubbing it between your thumb and forefinger. Fill th 8 about half full with the appropriate solution. Tie the top of the bag, again very ightly, and blot the bag dry. You now have a model cell Keep in mind that the internal and external solution be varied and that molecular movement in and out of your model cells can be ected by weighing them at various time intervals. ou can use starch, glucose, and/or salt solutions. I strongly saggest you start with tarch solutions. hen starch molecules interact with iodine, the mixture turns purple. Thus you can alsc se this color change as an indication of starch movement. Benedict's solution can be sed to detect glucose molecules.Explanation / Answer
Casual question associated to this experiment would be something like as follows:
Let us consider the last question regarding Osmosis.
