Shear panels are used to counter the effects of lateral loads acting on the structure and to resist in-plane loads that are applied along its height.
Using of Shear panels is an efficient way of stiffening the structure. They can also transmit shear loads. They connect the rods horizontally and vertically.
2. Spar Caps:
Spar is often the main structural member of the wing of an aircraft, running spanwise at right angles to fuselage. Spar carries flight loads and weight of wings while on the ground.
Coming to Spar Caps , these are the materials carrying bending loads in a wind turbine blade. They represent Rods in the figure given, which carries Tension and compression loads. In overall, the above figure represents the design of turbine blade of an aeroplane.
