Explanation / Answer
We are already experiencing the effects of climate change. Temperatures are rising, snow and rainfall patterns are shifting, and more extreme climate events—like heavy rainstorms and record high temperatures—are already taking place. These changes are linked to the climbing levels of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, caused by human activities such as burning fossil fuels for energy.
By taking action to reduce emissions of the greenhouse gas pollution that warms our planet, we can reduce the risks we will face from future climate change. Government, businesses, and individuals all have an important role to play.
Our Household Carbon Footprint, Annual Estimated CO2 Emissions (lbs) from...
Home Energy, Transportation and Waste
Current Total = 8,688
New Total After Planned Actions = 8,403
U.S. Average = 108,943
Emissions from transportation and food can be realistically changed by decreasing the number of miles driven per year and using green electricity for cooking instead of natural gas.
