Question
A piston-cylinder device initially contains 1.4-kg of saturatedliquid water at 200°C. Heat is now transferred to the wateruntil cylinder contains saturated vapor only. vf=0.001157m3/kg vg= 0.12721 m3/kghfg=1939.8
Determine:
a) The initial and final volume of the piston-cylinder.
b) The final temperature and pressure
c) Change in enthalpy (H) of the water.
Draw the vaporization process on the P-V diagram below andinclude a constant temperature line.

Explanation / Answer
my internet is not very good so i can't enter equations andthat. I also don't have my thermo book anymore so i can'tlook up values sorry:( a)To find the initial volume you look up the specific volume littlevf units m3/kg som/vf=Vol * This should bem*vf 1.62*10-3m3 to find final volume you will do the same thing usingvg 0.178m3 b)Pressure is Psat at 200 and final Temperature is200 c)H would be 1.4kg times (hg-hf) or 1.4times hfg 2.716*103kJ the chart should be a horizontal line at the psatconnecting the curve
