Question

I am having a problem with a homework problem with a table forrefrigerant 134a could anybody help me. The table looks like thefollowing. T0C                               P,kPa                v,m3/kg                    Phase description -8                                     360                      30                                      770.64              0.015                          Saturatedmixture -14                                                                                                Saturated Vapor 90                                       600 I have a chart in the back of my book and for row 2 it had770.64 for P,kPa and saturated vapor for the phase description butthe rest of the chart i could not come up with if anybody couldexplain this to me i would be gratly appreciative if possible couldyou fill in the chart with explanations thank you. Explanation / Answer

ok you can use P and T from the first entry to find theenthalpy (h) at satuation then use h = hf -v-(P-Psat) to solve for v- (specific volume) you wouldhave to determine though like with water if the fluid is compressedor not which makes finding h easier... and Psat is thesaturation pressure of r-134a so you can do that i believe withyour first and last rows.
for the third row since you know that its a saturated vapor at -14oC look at the hf and hfg and usethe specific enthalpy equation to find the quality 'x'(or i think the quailty can be determined just by saying that its asaturated vapor) then use the specific volume v-f andv-fg to find v- that explaination should get you to what you need, hope thishelps...
