Question
In the above diagram, Find the voltage across the capacitors in the circuit under dc conditions. (it's beautiful isn't it, from left to right, 40 ohms, 10 ohms, 2 ohms, 50 ohms, and 6V source, and to capacitors of unknown capacitance.
Please and thank you for any and all help! :)
In the above diagram, Find the voltage across the capacitors in the circuit under dc conditions. (it's beautiful isn't it, from left to right, 40 ohms, 10 ohms, 2 ohms, 50 ohms, and 6V source, and to capacitors of unknown capacitance Please and thank you for any and all help! :)Explanation / Answer
in dc you have both C1 and C2 open circuits
hence the current flowing in 50 ohm R is zero
so applying KVL at the left loop yields :
I = 6 / (2+10+40) = 6/52 = 0.115 A ( CCW)
so :
V1 = 6 - 0.115(10+2) = 4.62 V <<<<<<<<<<
and V2 = 6 - 0.115 (2) = 5.77 V <<<<<<<<<< .
