Question
Design of a single stage amplifier: for the circuit show Vbe= 0.7 Vbate=39, r-pi=1.5 ome, ro=50K, g-m=0.4 A/V
1)sketch the DC circuit
2)find the DC solution for I-B and V-CE
3) IF you sketch the circuit correctly, R4 goes away at AC condition.
4)find the input impedance Ri
5)find the circuit gain Ai=i-i/i-L
6) find voltage gain Av=V-l/V-i
Correction to the Takehome exam:
1)
For the DC part, only the values of beta=39 , ro=50K and VBE=0.7V are given, the other two parameters (gm and r-pi ) are calculated later based on DC currents values assuming Vt=25mV. That is
the values of r-pi=1.5 and gm=0.4A/V are wrong. See table 6.4, page 423.
2) Current gain is Ai si the ratio of iL/i i and not the other way around as it is shown.
3) IF you sketch the circuit correctly, R4 goes away at AC condition.
