Question

PLEASE ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS. CLEAR HANDWRITING.

1. How do these viruses replicate their genomic material and build proteins to make more copies of them?

2. Which enzymes enable them to make more copies of their genetic material and make proteins?

3. Describe the principal events of attachment, entry, uncoating, biosynthesis, maturation, and release of an enveloped DNA or RNA based animal virus

4. For all the Viral Types (based on the Baltimore system) how does EACH Replicate its Genome AND How does each get its genes Expressed? Be specific.

Explanation / Answer

DNA virus replicate by using the cell proteins of the host cell which helps them make extra DNA material which is then transcribed to mRNA and is then translated for protein synthesis. Lysosomes break the cell wall of the host cell and help the virus to replicate by allowing them to access the DNA material of the host. The virus attaches to the membrane of the host cell and injects the DNA or RNA. The entry of the virus takes place by pinocytotic vacuole. The virus synthesises the material by using the host cellular components which is used to make structural and non-structural components of the virus. The release of the virus is through busting of the cells and by budding of the virus.
