Explanation / Answer
2) Yes,a woman with type A blood and a man with type B blood can produce a type A baby because if the woman has heterozygous gene for A blood group i.e IAIO and the man has heterozygous gene for B blood group i.e. I BIO ,on crossing we get the genotypes of blood groups AB,A,B and O .
3)No, it is not his kid because it rules out the following 2 possibilities:
Possibility 1)If the man has genotype IOIO and the woman has heterozygous genotype for B IBIO, on crossing we get only B and O blood groups.
Possibility 2)If the man has genotype IOIO and the woman has homozygous genotype for B IBIB , on crossing we get only B blood group.
