Question
Two 4.0-kg blocks are tied together with a compressed springbetween them. They are thrown from the ground with an initialvelocity of 35 m/s, 45° above the horizontal. At the highestpoint of the trajectory they become untied and spring apart. Abouthow far below the highest point is the center of mass of thetwo-block system 2.0 s later, before either fragment has hit theground?Using the formulas:
R=(vo^2/g)sin(2o) ==> here I getx=125m
y=(tan(o)*x)-(gx^2)/(2(vo*cos())^2) ==> and here I get y=0?
I'm not sure where to go from this point.
Edit:
s=-(1/5)gt^2 apparently gives you the correct answer
I'm not sure where my teacher was going with those equations.
