when the skier leaves the jump ramp, her total energy is KE + PE = KE = (1/2)mu2 >>> u = 14, m=mass, andi measure PE with respect to the ramp edge so PE=0 at the max. height H above the ramp edge, total energy is KE + PE = (1/2)mv2 + mgH >>> v = 13 from energy conservation, (1/2)mv2 + mgH = (1/2)mu2 gH = (1/2)(u2- v2 ) H = (g/2)(u2- v2 ) just substitute the values and compute. hopw this helps!
