16.Symptoms of AIDS are divided into 3 stages;
1. Acute HIV Infection; This is the initiat stake of HIV infection. In this stage person develops fever, sour throat and minor rashes. These symptoms go away and person recovers within few days.
This stage is followed by an asymptomatic stage, which may last from 6 months upto 10 years, during which HIV replicates to form new viral particles.
2. AIDS Related Complex (ARC): During this stage person develops chronic diarrhoea, fever, weight loss , cough, loss of hair, night sweats. This is abundant reduction in number of helper T cells.
3. Full blown AIDS: In this stage person develops different kinds oflife threatening and opportunistic infections and cancers like pneumoniae, TB, Kaposi's sarcoma.
