a) First of all if the particle has to come to rest thenthe force must be exactly in the direction oppositte to its motionelse the particle would gain momentum in other direction also andsince no other force is applied, it can't come to rest. b) Now since the force is constant therefore decelerationprovided by the force is fixed. And since its speed becomes 0 in adistance of 62.5m. therefore we can apply the equation of motionv2 - u2 = -2*a*s. Therefore a = u2/(2*s) = (25*25)/(2*62.5) =5m/s2. Therefore time taken to stop is by soving equation v = u -a*t.Since v = 0 and a = 5m/s2. Therefore t = u/a = 25/5= 5s c) Mass of the particle is simply = F/a = 15/5 = 3Kg.
