Question

1)For most people the experiment line will be roughtly parallel to and lower than the theoretical line. Explain why the experimenat line is lower than the theoretical line.

2)Consider an inelastic collision between tow objects for which the M/m ratio approaches either infinity or 0 (This is like a train hitting a flea, or a flea hitting a train). What would Kf/Ki approach in each case?

3)How would the graph look like if the experiment involved completely elastic rather than inelastic collision?

Please answer as much as you can.

Explanation / Answer

1) the Experiment line will generally be lower than the theoretical line because the theoretical line is what you'd expect to happen in a "perfect" or "ideal" situation. For a majority of the experiments donducted by students, the actual or experiment will yield lower amounts. It is very difficult to yield 100% of what we calculate.
