for the initial force

9 *10^9 * x * y/.50^2 = - 0.4768

after they are touched

charge on both = (x + y)/2

for the force between two charge

9 *10^9 * ((x + y)/2)^2/.50^2 = 0.3345

solving for x and y

x = 1.7 *10^-6 C

y = - 7.8 *10^-6 C

the smaller charge is 1.7 *10^-6 C

the larger charge is 7.8 *10^-6 C
