One cubic centimeter (cc) used in measuring doses of medicines, is about the same as A 0.1 mL B. 1 mL C. 5 mL D 10 The fluid matrix inside the cell is called____ A. Nucleoplasm B. Endoplasm C. Cytosol D. Nucleoplasm What is the name of a double layer of phospholipids (called lipid bilayer)? A. Plasma membrane B. Cytoskeloton C. Cellulose cell wall D. Nuclear membrane What is the function of the cell membrane? A. Gives the cell shape, protection, and regulates movement of substances into and out of cell B. Makes protein

Explanation / Answer

Questions 9 and 10 are not clear.Kindly post clearer questions with good resolution.

question 11- 1 cc is equivalent to 1mL (B) - when you say cubic centimetre, we measures 3 dimensions the length, breadth and height that is it measures the volume. Volume is capacity. For capacity the measure is Litre. cm to m =1/10 same as 1/10 L. So cc will be 1/10x 1/10 x 1/10 = 1/1000 L = 1 ml.

question 12 - The fluid matrix inside a cell is called cytosol.(C). This is a liquid found inside a cell. This fluid along with the organnels is called cytoplasm. In eukaryotic cells the cytosol lies inside the cell membrane and the organnels like mitochondria, plastids are present in the cytosol.

question 13 - What is the name of lipid bjlayer in a cell?

It is the nuclear membrane. (D). The plasma membrane has lipid bilayer and also has protein and cholosterol. The other 2 options are made of protein fibre and cellulose.

question 14 - What is the function of cell membrane? It gives the cell shape, protection and regulates movement of substances into and out of the cell. So (A). It is made of lipid bilayer and proteins as well but it does not make proteins.
