In the process of wrapping up their lab work and leaving for their next class, they get their glasses exchanged (Mary leaves with Paul's glasses and Paul leaves with Mary's glasses). dop = 25-1.8 = 23.2 cm
dip = 120 - 1.8 = -118.2 cm
From lens formula,
1 / fp = 1 / dip + 1 / dop
1 / fp = -1 / 118.2 + 1 / 23.2

For mary,
Pp = 1 / dom + 1 / dim
dim = -62 + 1.8 = 60.2 cm
3.46 = 1 / dom - 1 / 60.2
dom = 28.73
closest object that mary can see,
d = 28.73 + 1.8 = 30.5 cm

For paul,
3.46 = -1 / 118.2 + 1 / dop
