Question

PART A & B pls

The following figure shows a 3.0-cm-diameter solenoid passing through the center of a 7.0-cm-diameter loop. The magnetic field inside the solenoid is 0.25 T. What is the magnetic flux through the loop when it is perpendicular to the solenoid? Express your answer to two significant figures and include the appropriate units. What is the magnetic flux through the loop when it is tilted at a 60 degree angle? Express your answer to two significant figures and include the appropriate units.

Explanation / Answer

d = 3.0 cm, r = 1.5 cm, B = 0.25 T

a) magnetic flux = B A cos 0 = B pi r2 = 0.25 * pi * (1.5 * 10-2)2

= 1.77 * 10-4 Wb

b) theta = 60 deg

A = pi r2 / cos theta

flux = B pi r2

Flux remains same

= 1.77 * 10-4 Wb
