On Fridays he rides the bike to his family where he travels for 20 minutes uphill and 25 minutes downhill. Determine the total number of miles James travels Monday through Friday ?
Explanation / Answer
bike speed = 2.34 m/h
Time taken on Monday and Wednesday = 30 minutes
Distance travelled=2.34*30 min /60 min*hr=1.17 m
Total distance,i.e on monday and wednesday=1.17*2=2.34 m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays,distance travelled=2.34*85/60=3.315 m
Total distance=6.63 m
On Fridays,distance travelled=2.34* 20/60=0.78 m+(2.34*25/60)=1.755 m
Total=1.755+6.63+2.34=10.725 m
