No, Maciel was not correct. If want to stay or had any kind of objection, then he should file a suit before the period end. But here it was clearly stated to him till when he can stay and no suit of objection was filed at that moment. So, the case of trespassing is well justified and at that moment he doesn't have any legal authority to that place.
