As meme a result, three forces act on the ball, F1 , F2, and F3 (see the drawing). The magnitudes of F1 and F2 are F1 = onceets 81.0 81.0 newtons (N) and F2 = 86.0 N. Determine (a) the magnitude of F) and (b) the angle such that the oresultant force acting on the ball is zero. Probiem Problem Problem lts by Study (a) Number Units (b) Number UnitsExplanation / Answer
Here ,
F1 = 81 N
F2 = 86 N
let the angle F3 is theta and magnitude is F3
Now , for the net force
Fnet = F1 + F2 + F3
0 = 81 * (cos(60) i - j * sin(60)) - 86 i + F3 * (cos(theta) i + j * sin(theta))
81 * cos(60) -86 + F3 * cos(theta) = 0 ----(1)
- 81 * sin(60) + F3 * sin(theta) = 0 -----(2)
solving for theta and F3
F3 = 83.6 N
theta = 57 degree
the magnitude of F3 is 83.6 N and the angle theta3 is 57 degree
