Question

7 and 8 please 7. (15) The four resisters (R]s R2= R3= R4=(#N) ) are connected in series and in parallel with the power supply V=( )v as shown in Figure. What power (in W) is in the equivalent resistor R eq.? R1 R2 R3 R4 a)0.IN b)0.2 N c0.3N A2 d)0.4 N V2 -1 e) None of these is true 8. (15) A CI-6 (N#) pF Capacitor is connected in series with a C2-2(N#) pF capacitor and C3-3(N#JPF. This combination is connected in parallel with C4-4(N# The resulting equivalent capacitance in pF is: a) 0.5(N*) b)13(N#) c)5(N#) d)0.25(N#) e) None of these is true

Explanation / Answer

Solution:

Ans. 7) Eqivalent resistance of the ciruit diagram is

=> Req = 2.5 N ohm

Using the formula of power (P) = V^2 / R

=> P = N^2 / 2.5N

=> P = N / 2.5

=> P = 0.4 N V^2 ohm^-1

So option D should be right one.

8) As stated C1 , C2 , C3 are in series so that equivalents to 1 N pF

=> and as this combination is connected in parallel with 4 N pF capacitor so,

Equivalent capacitance = 5 N pF
