here Wf2 is the total work done on the box and as you know workdone is equal to force*displacement.
When we calculate force, we take into reference all the forces that act on the box including gravity that is mg.
Hence, the effects of gravity is not excluded from total work done it's just when we were calculating force acting on the box we considered that.
