Question
a particle of mass 3g moves along a curve from Point A via Point B to Point C , it continues moving beyond Point c as gravity is acting
please do the B part of this question
NAME Question 3 A particle of mass 3 enoving beyond poimt C only with gravity acting on t. The initial velocty at point A is a ms (Use g 9.81 m/s Cos6 points) g maves along a curve from pont A via point 8 to 1.5 m a) Assume that there is no friction. What is the speed (in m/s) of the particle at point 8? b) Now assume that there is friction. Beyond point C, the particle moves a maximum height of 0.2 m above C, How much energY (in J] is lost to the friction? n-1s)Explanation / Answer
given m = 3g
Va = 8 m/s
h1 = 2m
h2 = 1.5 m
a. assuming no friciton
from energy balance
0.5mVb^2 = 0.5mVa^2 + mgh1
Vb = 10.16 m/s
b. let there be friciton
then
final total energy = mg(h2 + 0.2) = m16.677
initial total ergy = 0.5mVb^2 = 51.6128m
hence
energy wasted away = 51.6128m - 16.677m = 0.1048074 J
