(A) in vertical,

yf - yi = v0y t + ay t^2 /2

0 - 26.4 = 0 - 9.8 t^2 / 2

t = 2.32 sec  

(B) v = v0 + a t = 0 + (9.8 x 2.32) = 22.7 m/s

(C) time taken by sound to reach the top,

t1 = 26.4 / 340 = 0.078 sec

total time = 2.32 + 0.078 = 2.40 sec
