il km/h We use 2 liters of water at 10.0 C and 100 g at 200 C. Steel has a sp specific heat of 4.184 J/g K. Do not both rat 10.0 C and submerge into it a steel blade with apacity of 0.45 J/g K, water the final temperature of the water with the stel blade in it. ific heat c 0.45 J/ig K, water has a 4 /g K. Do not bother that some water might vaporize . 00 C. Steel has a spec

Explanation / Answer

This is a problem of simple heat balance.

We know that energy is conserved, so heat will be conserved it will only be transfered from one body to other.

we know that heat capacity is

m*C*dT

So let the final temperature be T.

Heat lost by steel= heat gained by water.

Now weight of water will be 2000grams, as density of water is 1g/ml

So,

2000*4.184*(T-10)=100*0.45(200-T)

8368T-83680=9000-45T

T=11.0162C
