Question
Heat energy absorbed by the cold water through contact with the condensed steam.
So I have a equation Qw=MwCw(Teq-Tc)
Mass of empty calorimeter (g) 93.653
Mass of calorimeter + water (g) 229.915
Mass of water (g) 136.262
Mass of Calorimeter, thermometer, and water (g) 248.331
Initial water temp (°C) 24.009
Final water temp (°C) 24.023
Mass of calorimeter, thermometer, water, and condensed steam (g) 250.084
Mass of steam (Msteam) 1.753
How do I find out Qw = (cal) The equation is Qw= Mw X Cw X (Teq-Tc)
I know that Mw stands for mass of cold water, the Cw is the specifc heat of water 1.0 cal/gram °C, the Teq is the Equilibrium temperatrue of the mixture subtracted from the Tc which is the initial temperature of cold water.
Thank you for your help.
Can you please help me?
Explanation / Answer
Heat energy absorbed by the cold water
Qw= Mw X Cw X (Teq-Tc)
=136.262 X10-3X 1 X (24.023 - 24.009)
= 1.9 cal
