Question
A skier of mass m=69kg starts from rest down a hemispherical hill. at a point h=R/3 the skier will loose contact with the ground. What is the skiers centripetal acceleration at this point if the radius of the arc is R=7m? show work. round 3 decimal places
Question Completion Sului 260 Ba and the car the 2 points QUESTION G A sklar of mass m ig from rest down hermisphericalhal At a point h R 1 he skiu wn loose cortad with the ground wha is the ea starts centripetal accukrtion at this point the Radus points QUESTION 7Explanation / Answer
Given mass of skier m = 69 kg ,
h = R/3 ., R = 7m
when he looses contact , it like the free fall
by conservation of energy mgh = 0.5 mv^2 ==> v^2 = 2*g*h = 2*g*R/3
v = sqrt(2*9.8*7/3) m/s
v = 6.76264 m/s
now the centripetal acceleration is a = v^2/r = 6.76264^2/7 m/s2
a = 6.53333 m/s2
the centripetal acceleration is a = 6.53333 m/s2
