Question
LAB REPORT QUESTIONS Each question needs to be answered in a separate paragraph in the results section of your report.
This is a lab report question that needs to be addressed in a sentence form with explanation. I will just write add introduction and conclusion. Thank you
1. What was the percent uncertainty of the magnetic field sensor? For this experiment, why is percent uncertainty more useful than absolute uncertainty?
2. Based on the seven values of field you measured (at seven different currents) and including uncertainty, what was your computed value of the permeability constant 0? Does it agree with the theoretical value? What is the percent error between your value and the theoretical value? List some possible causes of error in your computed value.
Explanation / Answer
1. The percentage uncertainty in the magnetic field is = 3.964
The percentage uncertainty is useful to get the relative idea of how much there needs be correction in the study. Absolute does not give any hint on the relative uncertainty.
2 and . Fir answering these questions one needs to know what type of experimental setup you are using. There is slightly different relationship between current and magnetic field for different type of experimental setup.
The answer will be NO for the permeability. As you do not have absolute vacuum.
For 3 values should not match, as experimental setup will not be ideal.
Again the experimental setup is required to fully understand the situation and answer your question.
