Question

Problem 1 In this circuit Vab = 6.0 v, Vbc = 2.0 v and that the current passing through R3 is .020 ampere. Find RS, the equivalent resistor which could replace these three resistors with the current unchanged.

Problem 2 Problem 2 [5 pints] Here R1 = 0.25 x R2, and R3 = 120 , while I = 0.20 amps. Find the values of the other two resistors, R1 and R2, as well as the values of I1, I2 and I3.

Problem 2     [5 pints]

Here R1 = 0.25 x R2, and R3 = 120 , while I = 0.20 amps.

Find the values of the other two resistors, R1 and R2, as well as the values of I1, I2 and I3.

Show all your steps and circle your five anwers.

Explanation / Answer

In here,

I = 0.02 A

Vab = 6 V

R1 = Vab/I = 300 ohm

Vbc = 2 V

I = 0.02 A

R2 = 2/0.02 = 100 ohm

using KVL in the loop

(100 + 200 + R3) * I = 12

R3 = 300 ohm

the equivalent resistance R5 = R1 + R2 + R3

Put all resistance value

= 700 ohm
