Explain the main reason for these differences between men and women. Enter answer Think about all the times you have put on gloves, a hat, a scarf or sat down in a chairExplanation / Answer
1. Stratum corneum is the outermost layer of the skin composed of dead cells, in the same way, the outer layer of the bark is also made of dead cells.
2. Stratum corneum has the function of protecting the skin from infection, dehydration, and stresses in the same way the bark of a tree protects it from diseases and high temperatures.
3. The stratum corneum can shed the cells on the surface which are then replaced periodically by the underlying cells. In a similar fashion, if the outer layer of the bark is removed, it gets replaced by the inner layer of living tissue of the periderm.
Men and women differ in skin texture and hair, this is because of the sex chromosomes. Both men and women have different pairs of sex chromosomes. Men have XY chromosome and women have XX chromosome. For example, the Y chromosome might have the gene for facial hair in men whereas women don't have facial hair because they don't have the Y gene thus justifying the differing features of men and women.
