Waves Propagation and refraction of periodic toures PROP HW-122 2. Determine whether each of the ray diagrams below has a flaw The dia of a wa of large smaller 3. is not consistent with If a diagram has a flaw, clearly describe how the physical situation observations that you made in tutorial (e-g..a crest is transmitted as a crest) If a diagram has no flaw: a. Us ma the of s the Use a straightedge to draw incident and transmitted wavefronts that are consistent with then and boundary shown. . If possible, determine in which medium the waves travel more quickly. If it is not possible make this comparison, explain why not is not possible to She b. Sta e, c. Explanation / Answer

The first one is perfect , Light bends towards the normal, i.e it is travelling from less denser medium to more denser medium. Light will travel faster in upper medium.

The second one is flawed , Light bends and becomes perpendicular, which is not possible, as angle of refraction cannot be 0.

The third one is totally flawed.

Fourth one is perfect !! ( It will have same speed.)

Fifth one is perfect, Light bends away from the normal, i.e it is travelling from high denser medium to less denser medium. Light will travel faster in Lower medium.

Sixth one is Flawed, as If incident light is perpendicular then it will pass undeflected.
