7. Give a functional delinition tor: centromere centriole cytokinesis nudeolus kinetochore 8. Describe in words what the cell(s) involved would look like for the following phases of cell division in an organism with 2n-4. Phase / division: Description metaphase mitosis telophase mitosis anaphase I meiosis interkinesis meiosis metaphase II meiosis 9. Fully describe a monad, a dyad and a tetrad. Explain how the word chromatid relates to each of these terms..fat all. Structure: Description: Monad Dyad Tetrad 10. If you saw a cell with 5 monads moving to each of the poles of a cell, what stage of cell division might this be? " Consider both plants and animals. What is the 2n number of the organism involved? Is the cell undergoing mitosis or meiosis? How do you know? Explain.Explanation / Answer
7. Centromere - To hold chromatids together and to attach chromosomes to spindle.
Centriole - Synthesis microtubles during cell division.
cytokinesis - It divides the cytoplasm of a parental cell into two daughter cells.
Nucleouls - rRNA factory. The synthesis rRNA or ribosomal rna here.
Kinetochore - The inner kinetochore binds with the centromere DNA.
The outer kinetochore works with the microtubules attached to the spindle poles.
8.
Metaphase mitosis - six chromosome with sister chromatids are aligned in equtoria plate of the cell. Microtubes are binds with kinetochore.
Telophase mitosis - Sister chromatids are separated. 6 sister chromatids moves in one pole and another 6 chromatids moves to other pole of the cell. The nuclear membrane are surrounds the chromatids.
Anaphase 1 meiosis - Three chromosome each contain two sister chromatids moves to pole. Another three chromosome move to opposite pole.
Interkinesis meiosis - Two cell are formed each contain three chromosome with two sister chromatids.
Metaphase II meiosis - Three chromosome with sister chromatids are aligned in equtoria plate of the cell. Microtubes are binds with kinetochore.
9. Monod - It consists of a single chromatid, a single piece of DNA containing a centromere.
Dyad - It consists of 2 identical chromatids (sister chromatids) attached together at the centromere.
Tetrad - Two homologous chromosomes, chromatids joined together by a centromere. That means that there are four chromatids in a tetrad.
10. Anaphase II in meiosis
2n = 10
Meiosis
It has single chromatids or monads it ocuurs in meiosis II.
