Question
Punnett quare has been partilly set up for you. The rows and columins have been labeled with the types of gametes that each fly can produce. Fill in each cell with the genotype (the pair of alleles) that would come from the two gametes that formed that zygote. male: e emale: 4. Using the information from Part I, your definitions from Part II, and your answers to question 3 above, answer the following questions: a. What are ths possible phenotypes of offspring for these parents (e'el xe'el)? ete e4 e e' el b Asuming tespes produce 100 ofipring what is the egpeced proportion of ofipring that will have each phenotype? c. What are the possible genotypes of the offspring of these parents? Assuming these parents produce 100 offispring what is the expected proportion of offspring that will have each genotype? d.Explanation / Answer
A. Phenotype means external appearance 3 out of 4 will show character of dominant and one will be recessive(dominant is e+)
B. If the genes show complete dominance then out of 100 75 would be showing dominant phenotype and 25 recessive phenotype because ratio is 3:1
C. Expected genotypes are what you've written in answer of part A
D. Genotypic ratio for monohybrid is 1:2:1
So 25 will be e+e+ 50 will be e+e- and 25 will be e-e-
Note: please mention the function of gene e if it has been stated in your book while writing answer .
