Since the system is in equilibrium, so the moment about the hinge will be 0 ,

M = 0

540(4) +130(3) - T(cos 30)(6) = 0

where T = tension in the cable

Solving for "T"

T(cos 30)(6) = 540(4) + 130(3)

T = 490.74 N

b) now for vertical and horizontal forces we have,

Summation of vertical forces = 0, i.e.,

V = 0

V + 490.74(cos 30) -540 - 130 = 0

=> V= 245.006 N

now again , Sumof horizontal forces = 0

H = 0

H - 490.74(sin 30) = 0

H = 245.37N
