Explanation / Answer

Section 2

Q.1 Answer- Observation 1 is more useful for further investigation because it gives us a general view with respect to the waste food. It says food waste in dining center has increased and we can go into the causes and may found wastes other then bread and salad on our observation.

Q.2 Answer- The term "scientifically proven" is more about failing to disprove things or showing that things have been detected or matched within a level of statistical significance after subjecting to various observations and experiments.

Section 3

Q.1 Answer- Mean refers to the average that is used to derive the central tendency of a data. It is determined by taking "sum of observations divided by number of observations".

Q.2 Answer- In a set of data , range may be defined as difference between the largest and the smallest value.

Q.3 Answer- Standard deviation is a measure of dispersion. A small value of standard deviation indicate that data is tightly grouped about the mean while a high value indicates data to be widely spread on either side of mean.
