Question
Torque
1.i. Notice that "into-the-page" indicates a direction whereas "clockwise" does not. Since torque, angular velocity, and angular acceleration are vectors, explain why "clockwise" is not a good way to describe them.
ii. A person standing at the Earth's North Pole observes the Earth to rotate with a counter-clockwise sense of motion (when staring at the ground.) A person standing at the Earth's South Pole observes the Earth to rotate with a clockwise sense of motion. What actual compass direction is the Earth's angular velocity pointing?
Explanation / Answer
(1) Clockwise or anticlockwise is used to show the direction of rotation whereas the into or out side the page shows direction . We have three axis ( we are talking about 3dimension) x-axis , y-axis and z axis we take one of the axis towards into or out of page .
(2)
Earth rotates west ot east .that is anti clockwise so does moon.
