a) Momentum balance

Initial momentum = 0.4*11.8 = 4.72

final Momentum = (72.6 + 0.4)*Vf = 73*Vf

ie., Vf = 4.72/73 = 0.064 m/s

b) initial momentum = 4.72

finala momentum = 72.6*Vf - 0.4*8.1 = 72.6*Vf - 3.24

ie., 72.6Vf - 3.24 = 4.72
