la) The fossa is a unique carnivore found only in Madagascar. If you extract genomic DNA from fossa cells, randomly shear the DNA into 500 bp fragments, and use those DNA fragments in an equilibrium density gradient centrifugation experiment, you oet results similar to those shown below. What can vou conclude about the base compositior Plot Area istribution of G-C base pairs in the fossa genomic DNA from this result? Briefly explain how or why you would reach those conclusions. (3 points) 0.9 0.8 0.7Explanation / Answer
1d) only one band would there after gel electrophoresis because maximum DNA fragments are 500 bp long travel in gel with same speed and form single band( probably more band may be there because non sheared or over sheared DNA may be there but their bands can not observed clearly due to very less DNA amount).
1e)highly repetitive sequence reanneal much more quick because the DNA sequence is more similar and complementary to each other and due to this less time take to join fragments to each other. In case of other fragments there is less complementary sites for rejoining.
