Question

Which describes how photosynthesis differs from aerobic respiration? (Select all that apply) Photosynthesis produces carbon dioxide gas, while aerobic respiration consumes carbon dioxide gas. All of the reactions of photosynthesis occur inside the chloroplast, while only some of the reactions of aerobic respiration occur inside the mitochondria. The general equation of photosynthesis is the reverse of that for aerobic respiration. Photosynthesis produces oxygen, while aerobic respiration consumes oxygen.

Explanation / Answer

Two options 3rd and 4th are correct. The equation of glucose consumption in aerobic respiration and glucose formation through photosynthesis is just reverse to each other. In respiration the one molecule of glucose combines with 6 oxygen molecules and break into 6 molecules of CO2 and H2O. The reverse of this process occurs in photosynthesis.

This is also true that photosynthesis produces Oxygen while aerobic respiration utilizes that.

Therefore, both options (3rd and 4th) are correct.
