Question
Just posted this and got a wrong answer... hopefully someone can help me...I keep getting this awful person answering my questions completely wrong purposely.
A 4.8mH toroidal inductor has 150 identical equally spaced coils.
Part A
If it carries an 11.3A current, how much magnetic flux passes through each of its coils?
Express your answer using two significant figures.
Answer: mWb
Part B
If the potential difference across its ends is 1.18V , at what rate is the current in it changing?
Express your answer using two significant figures. Enter only the magnitude of the rate.
Answer: A/s
Explanation / Answer
A) magnetic flux through each of it's coil = L*I (L is the self inductance and I is the current)
= 4.8*10^-3*11.3
= 54.24 mW <<<<<<<<<<-----------Answer
B) induced emf = N*L*dI/dt
==> dI/dt = induced emf/(N*L)
= 1.18/(150*4.8*10^-3)
= 1.64 A/s <<<<<<<<<<-----------Answer
